Vital Oats raisin bread
For 1 loaf of bread
- 500 g Mix for Vital Oats
- 2 g dry yeast
- 5 g salt
- 50 g cane sugar
- 200 ml milk
- 100 g butter
- 200 g raisins
- 2 eggs
- When working on your dough, always sprinkle flour over the work surface/roll of dough/dough.
Tip: make an easy version with 500 g Mix, 330 ml water and 200 g raisins
For the decoration
- 1 egg yolk
- 1 tbsp icing sugar
Make the bread
Stir the butter gently. Mix all ingredients except the raisins. Also add the butter. Knead everything for 20 minutes by hand or 10 minutes with the food processor until you have a smooth dough.
Cover with a tea towel. Allow to rise at room temperature for 40 minutes.
Add the raisins and knead for another 1 to 2 minutes. Shape the dough any way you want. Place in a greased baking tin or on a greased baking tray.
Cover and allow to rise at room temperature for 40 minutes.
Just before baking, brush the bread with beaten egg yolk.
Bake the bread for 30 to 35 minutes in a preheated oven at 220°C.
Allow the bread to cool.
Sprinkle icing sugar over the cooled bread and cut it into thick slices.2
