Welcome to the Niamh website. The purpose of this Cookie Policy is to inform you about how we use cookies and other tracking technologies to collect your personal data when you visit our website.
Latest cookie statement update: 05.09.2018.
1 What are cookies and personal data?
Cookies are small text files that are stored on your computer (or on other devices with internet access, such as a smartphone or tablet) when you visit the website. These text files store the following information: the name of the website from where the cookie originates, the ’shelf life’ of the cookie (in other words, how long the cookie will be stored on your computer/device) and a value, which usually consists of a randomly generated, unique number.
Some cookies can collect your personal data. Personal data includes everything that we know about you as a user.
2 How do we ask permission to place cookies?
When you visit the website, a banner will appear at the top of the page which informs you about the use of cookies on this website. You can read all information related to these cookies in this Cookie Policy.
We do not require your consent to place cookies that are essential for providing you with a service or for performing a function you request.
In the case of the other analytical cookies, we assume your implicit consent for their use. If you continue to browse the website, we consider this action as your consent to placing cookies on your device. If you do not want cookies on your device, read Section 4 below: ‘How can you manage or remove cookies?’
3 What types of cookies do we use?
3.1 Session cookies
Session cookies are temporary functional cookies that remain on your computer/device until you leave the website. These cookies are essential because the website or the service you have requested cannot function or will not function properly without the use of these cookies. Every time you visit our website, these cookies contain a different, temporary number. The cookies are automatically deleted when you close your browser. These cookies have a minimal impact on your privacy.
The session cookies used are as follows:
ASP.NET_SessionID and modal Message | Technical info for web server |
* _State | Technical info for web server |
*_DynamicCon-tent | Technical info for web server |
*_Container | Technical info for web server |
wordpress_test_cookie | Test to check whether browser accepts cookies |
wp-settings-{user_id} | Used to maintain the wp-admin-configuration of a user. |
3.2 Permanent cookies
This type of cookie remains on your computer longer than a session cookie or until it is manually deleted. (The length of time the cookie remains on your device depends on the ‘shelf life’ of the specific cookie and on your browser settings.) By using these types of cookies, we can recognise you the next time you visit our website. This allows the website to be specifically adapted to your preferences. For example, if you have agreed to the placement of cookies, we can remember this by means of a cookie. That means you do not have to repeat your preferences every time you visit, saving you time and making your visits to our website more enjoyable.
The following cookies are used:
cookie name | cookie purpose | cookie period |
okie | Registers the duration of your visit | |
devicePixelRatio Browser default | Adjusts the site to the size of your screen | 1 year |
cookie bar | This cookie ensures that the banner with information on the use of cookies remains visible as long as necessary. | 1 month |
wporg_logged_inwporg_sec | This cookie serves to check whether you have already been logged in. | 14 days |
Just like the session cookies, your consent for the use of the ‘Cookie Bar’ cookies is not required because it is strictly necessary to communicate about the use of cookies.
We need your consent to place analytical cookies. If you continue to browse the website, we consider this action as your consent to placing these cookies.
3.3 Third-party cookies
Third-party cookies are cookies that are placed on your device by a domain other than that of our website.
This concerns analytical cookies from parties other than AVEVE that collect information about the technical data of the exchange and about the use of the website to improve the operation thereof and to display content that is based on your interests.
3.3.1 Analytical cookies – Google Analytics
Google Inc. places cookies, as a part of its analytics service, via our website. We use this service to get reports on how visitors use our website. As standard, the data on your browsing behaviour we obtain is sent to and stored on a Google server in the United States of America. Based on this data, Google provides us with a report containing data on how visitors use our website. We can use the content of these cookies to improve the content of our website. To protect your data, we have entered into an agreement with Google.
Google may provide this information to third parties if Google is legally required to do so or insofar as third parties process this information on behalf of Google. We have no control over this process.
The information that Google collects is made as anonymous as possible.
For more information, please refer to Google’s data protection policy via http://www.google.com/intl/nl/policies/technologies/ads/ and https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245.

3.3.2 Cookie control cookies
These cookies are placed to remember your preferences in relation to cookies. We need to store your preferences to know whether or not you have given permission to place the following cookies on your device:
- Google Analytics (statistics)
- Advertising programme cookies
- Social media cookies
3.3.3 Tracking cookies
Tracking cookies help us tailor adverts to your preferences.
With your permission, other parties may place “tracking cookies” on your device to tailor adverts to your preferences. They use these cookies to keep track of which pages you visit outside of their networks, so that they can build a profile of your online surfing behaviour. Similar information obtained from your visits to other websites in their network is also used to build this profile. Your profile is in no way linked to your name, address, e-mail address and so on as provided to us, and only serves to tailor adverts to your profile so that they are as relevant to you as possible.
3.3.4 Social Media cookies
Our website includes buttons allowing you to promote (“like”) or share (“tweet”) web pages to social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and Instagram. The functionality of these buttons is based on strings of code originating from Facebook and Twitter respectively themselves. This code is used to place cookies. As such, we have no control over these cookies. Please make sure you read the privacy statements of Facebook and Twitter respectively (which may be updated from time to time) to find out how they process the (personal) data obtained via these cookies.
The information they collect is made as anonymous as possible.
We base ourselves on your implicit consent to place the cookies mentioned in this Article. If you continue to browse the website, we consider this action as your consent to placing these cookies.
4 How can you manage or remove cookies?
Most Internet browsers are set up to automatically accept cookies. You can decline or delete cookies via the browser settings on your computer. The exact method for doing this differs from browser to browser. If necessary, consult your browser’s manual and help function. These settings must be configured individually for each browser and for each computer/device!
For example, if you do not want Google Analytics to use your data, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-On. This add-on tells Google Analytics that you do not want your browsing data to be collected.
The non-acceptance, removal or deletion of cookies may mean that certain functions of the website do not work or do not work properly. This may lead to a disappointing website experience.
5 Do we use other tracking technologies?
5.1 Log files
Every time a page is accessed, your internet browser transmits and stores user data in registration files, or so-called log files. The files stored in this process contain the following data: Date and time of request, name of page requested, IP address, referrer URL (the URL from which you’ve reached the website), data transferred, loading time and information on the type and version of the browser used. User IP addresses are erased from our pages after use. These log file data series are analysed in an anonymised form to help us improve our offer and provide a better user experience, track and solve errors more quickly and manage server capacity. The legal basis for the processing of these logged data resides in our legitimate interest in improving our offer and managing our server capacity, the fault-free maintenance of our offer and the fulfilment of our statutory obligations to guarantee IT security.
5.2 Pixel tags
Pixel tags are small graphic images placed on web pages that can determine whether you have seen the page or not. Google Analytics pixel tags may be used on our website. These collect data that support promotional activities and website development. The data retrieved using these pixel tags cannot be used to identify you personally, but a certain combination of data may lead to us being able to identify you. We have no control over these pixel tags.
6 Do you have any questions for us, or would you like to exercise your right to access, correct, object to, restrict or delete your information?
You have the right to request access to the personal data we collect about you via cookies at any time, free of charge. You can also have your data corrected or erased free of charge. Where this concerns access to the personal data linked to a cookie, you must send a copy of the relevant cookie. You can find this in your browser settings. You also have the right to request that the processing of your personal data is restricted. Finally, you have the right to object to a specific type of processing of your personal data.
You can send a dated and signed request via email to privacy@aveve.be.
Before we can process your request, we must have a good understanding of the precise data you are requesting. Therefore, we request that you include the following information in your request: your full name, address, email address, and a clear description of your request.
We have one month’s time to answer your request. Please take into account the fact that this period only begins when we receive your dated and signed request and when we have received all of the information necessary to fulfil your request.
If, in your opinion, we have not handled your request appropriately, please contact us using the above information. In this way, we can work with you to find an appropriate solution. If this does not produce the desired result and we do not react to or refuse your request, you have the right to submit a complaint to the supervisory authority. In Belgium, this is the Gegevensbeschermingsautoriteit. In the Netherlands, this is the Nederlandse Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens. In France, this is La Commision Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertés (CNIL). In general, any complaints must be submitted to the supervisory authority in the country in which you are residing.

If we make any significant changes to this Policy that change our privacy practices in a substantial way, we may also inform you of this in a different manner, e.g. by sending you an email or publishing a statement on our website before the changes come into effect.
